WHI - Whitegate NDB 11th August 2003 The NDB is hidden in a forest about 3 miles NE of Tarporley in Cheshire. I found it strange that the beacon is called Whitegate - the viilage of Whitegate is actually six miles away to the north east. It's not easy to find. To get there, I took the A49 south west, crossing the A54 and subsequently taking the left turn towards Little Budworth. I turned right at the "T" junction and right again opposite Rushton Way onto the dirt track. The beacon is in the forest on the RHS. (Click on the small images for the bigger originals) |
